Lucy Vincent née Kukstas, born in the South-West of England in 1958, educated at Stroud Girls’ High School. First degree (B.Sc. special honours in biochemistry and physiology) from Sheffield University in 1979. Moved to France and obtained a doctorate from the University of Bordeaux in Neuorscience and Pharmacology. Worked for ten years for Radio France producing and presenting scientific and radio programs, and has written several books, published by the well known scientific editor Odile Jacob, on the neurobiology of love. Now directs the corporate communication department of Servier Laboratories in Paris.
Father, Jonas Vilhelmas Kukstas was born in 1925 in Siauliai. Displaced person at the end of World War II, emigrated to Fort William in Scotland and spent the rest of his life in the United Kingdom. Died 2002 without having revisited his much regretted homeland.
