Michael Ragunas is senior vice president and technology executive at Bank of America, where he leads infrastructure delivery and strategy for enterprise functions such as global technology and operations, corporate workplace, corporate audit, legal, compliance & regulatory relations, global information security and enterprise data management.

In this role, Ragunas and his team manage a globally distributed environment of thousands of networked servers and databases supporting the bank’s critical enterprise operations.

Previously, Ragunas led technology development and delivery supporting the contact center, claims and fraud functions at the bank.  In this role, he was accountable for desktop, voice and back office technology supporting more than 20,000 customer-facing agents, hundreds of millions of customer contacts by phone, email and chat, and billions of transactions screened for fraud annually.  He joined Bank of America in 2005 as senior architecture executive for the Consumer & Small Business Bank, where he drove systems architecture and strategy and led the implementation of the largest integration middleware platform in the world.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Ragunas spent 19 years with global office products retailer Staples, joining the company when it had a single store and progressing through roles in operations and technology including chief technology officer (CTO) for and vice president of Enterprise Technology Strategy and Architecture.  During his tenure as CTO at, Ragunas built the core technology strategy and platforms for what is now the second largest online retailer in the world.

Ragunas is a past recipient of InfoWorld’s “Top 25 Most Influential CTOs” and Computerworld’s “Premier 100 IT Leaders” awards and he holds a U.S. patent for business process innovation regarding technology consumption. Ragunas graduated with honors from Harvard University

Ragunas is proud to be a third-generation Lithuanian American.  He and his wife and two children reside in North Carolina.
